LONDONDERRY — Londonderry gets its first peek and chance to contribute to the new plan for North Main Street at a town meeting Oct. 7.
The meeting, hosted by Stevens & Associates of Brattleboro, will present an overview and share its findings of what North Main Street might look like in the coming years for the community.
Residents and businesses will have the opportunity to review plans, ask questions and provide their input into what matters most to them for the future of Londonderry’s main commercial strip.
“We, of course, want the town to retain some of the wonderful character that we all know and love about Londonderry, but at the same time provide ways for businesses to continue to thrive, and for new businesses move in,” said the Rev. Chris Blackey of the First Baptist Church in Londonderry. “I do hope this brings a renewed sense of community, where they can do business as well as gather as a community in a central location.”
Money for the renovations will come from federal pandemic relief.
“There is significant COVID relief money coming to our town from the federal government that can address our water supply, wastewater issues, as well as funding to address many of the challenges we face in building a viable, strong North Main Street,” said Planning Commissioner Sharon Crossman.
This first community presentation for Londonderry’s North Village Center will take place on Oct. 7 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Neighborhood Connections, located at the Mountain Marketplace in Londonderry.
