Walt Disney World is continuing to move forward and modify protocols as they operate amidst the ongoing pandemic. As more people become vaccinated, the theme parks are now allowing those vaccinated Guests to remove their face coverings in some places on property.
Additionally, Disney World is modifying the experiences offered at the theme parks, including the character cavalcades that debuted when the theme parks reopened in July 2020, as well as the socially distanced character meet and greets and opportunities.
With all of this being said, could Disney be gearing up to bring back another character meet and greet to Magic Kingdom? Well, signs (pun-intended) point to yes!

On a recent trip to Magic Kingdom, we noticed that Disney has reinstalled the sign at Ariel’s Grotto (seen in the images below). This sign has been missing from the Park for two months.
Now, at the time of publication, there has been no word on if Disney plans to bring back the Ariel meet and greet to Ariel’s Grotto as Disney World has not yet brought back any traditional meet and greets and instead, all Disney characters are currently greeting Guests in a socially distanced manner.
We do want to note that the FastPass+ wording has been removed from the right seashell, but unlike other attractions, this sign has not been replaced with the words “Lightning Lane”.
Inside the Magic will continue to update you as we get information regarding Ariel’s Grotto and character meet and greets at Walt Disney World.

The official Walt Disney World website describes this meet and greet location as:
Venture into a seaside grotto, where you’ll find Ariel among her treasures. She has gadgets and gizmos aplenty, and she’s always happy to make new friends—especially human ones.
She wants to be where the people are, so stop by and make her dream come true!
Do you hope to see Ariel return to her grotto soon? Let us know in the comments below.

This out-of-state Annual Passholder visits the parks as often as she can. While at the Most Magical Place on Earth, she can typically be found people watching on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, relaxing at Baseline Tap House, snacking on Mickey-shaped foods, or hanging out with her foolish mortals at the Haunted Mansion.
