Denim is the main character in Dagne Dover’s new collection.
Known for creating “problem-solving” bags, the women-owned company debuted this week Dagne Denim, a four-piece line of tote bags and organizational accessories. Each item is made with a light-wash indigo denim fabric made with 100 percent organic cotton.
“Everyone has a favorite pair of jeans. Ours just happens to come in the form of a bag,” the brand states.
The collection includes the large and small Vida tote, the Pacific tote and the Skye Essentials pouch. Each tote fits most laptops and is outfitted with multiple interior and exterior pockets, a neoprene bottle holder, a detachable key leash and other useful accessories. The insides and bottoms of each bag are coated for easy cleaning.
The roomy bags are positioned as a stylish solution helping travelers and professionals working hybrid schedules at home and in the office to stay organized.

The Skye Essentials collection is described as a “perfect eco-conscious” place to store keys, credit cards, phones, face masks and other necessities. Monochromatic zippers emphasize the denim’s cornflower shade of blue.
The collection retails for $40-$175.
Dagne Dover’s use of organic cotton denim falls in line with its commitment to becoming an eco-friendlier brand. Launched in 2012, the company keeps hazardous chemicals out of its production and taps scrap materials for sampling. The company is also exploring ways to extend the lifespan of its bags by donating excess inventory and returns to charities like Single Mothers Outreach and Closet On Main.
This month, it stepped into the booming resale business with Almost Vintage, a platform developed with peer-to-peer resale service Archive. After answering a questionnaire, sellers can submit their Dagne Dover products for listing on the site. Once an item is sold, Dagne Dover automatically generates a prepaid USPS shipping label and sellers can select 70 percent of the sale price in cash or 100 percent in store credit.
