#AM_Equality: The Equality Act is good for business & would ensure protection of most vulnerable; new mural celebrating trans lives in Philadelphia
CONSERVATIVE BUSINESS GROUPS SUPPORT EQUALITY ACT AS GOOD FOR BUSINESS AND U.S.: In a commentary, Trey Grayson — a former Republican Secretary of State in Kentucky — wrote “LGBTQ people are our friends, neighbors, family members, and coworkers. They deserve equal dignity and respect. They work hard to earn a living, provide for their families, and offer an invaluable contribution to strengthening our economy. The next few months are critical for our nation’s economic recovery, and it warrants an all-hands-on-deck, pro-business, and pro-worker approach.” More from Fortune.
🎨 “WE ARE UNIVERSAL” MURAL IN FISHTOWN CELEBRATES TRANSGENDER COMMUNITY: A mural by Kah Yangni (@kahyangni) in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia celebrates the transgender community. The mural is painted along an exterior wall of Morris Home — the only residential recovery program in the country specifically catering to transgender communities. More from Axios.
THE EQUALITY ACT WOULD ENSURE PROTECTION OF MOST VULNERABLE: “It’s time for Catholics and other religious people to claim their faith as a message of unity, inclusion, and service. It’s time to act for LGBTQ equality under the law,” writes Joan Campanaro, in a guest column. “It’s time for the Equality Act.” More from Orlando Sentinel.
