Marvel: The Best Films and TV Episodes to Watch for Halloween – Showbiz Cheat Sheet

While Marvel has very few Halloween dedicated specials, it still has some films and television shows that line up with the frights fans are looking for during the spooky season. And who wants to sit around watching the same Halloween movies for the 100th time on Oct. 31? Well, we’re sure a lot of people do, but, at the very least, Marvel fans can add a few of their favorite films and television shows to their Halloween watchlist.
This Marvel Halloween list would not be the same if Blade were not on it. Vampires are a staple of the holiday, after all. The film, released in 1998, centers around the Marvel comic book character Eric Brooks, aka Blade. Blade, played by Wesley Snipes, is a vampire-human hybrid who hunts vampires for a living.
Blade has all of the supernatural abilities of a vampire, but he can walk in daylight, isn’t affected by silver, and can be around garlic. Of course, the film contains many twists and turns and spooky surprises that make it the perfect Halloween watch. And if you didn’t already know, a new Blade film starring Mahershala Ali is in development for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
If zombies are your thing, then we have the perfect Marvel episode to watch on Halloween for you. In What If…? Season 1 Episode 5, “What If… Zombies?!,” a zombie apocalypse reigns over the Earth after Hank Pym retrieved his wife Janet from the Quantum Realm. Unfortunately, Janet had been affected by a quantum virus, and once she returned, the virus rapidly spread around the world.
It’s a heartbreaking episode for those attached to certain MCU characters, but it’s also scary enough to watch on Halloween. And the ending might just leave fans wanting more.

While The New Mutants isn’t considered the best-reviewed film in the history of Marvel, it’s still horrifying enough to watch on Halloween. The movie’s premise reads, “Five young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, fight to escape their past sins and save themselves.”
The New Mutants is classified as a superhero horror film, and it’s the last installment into the X-Men film series. And rumor has it that the cast and crew filmed in a haunted abandoned mental hospital. If that doesn’t make you want to watch this Marvel film for Halloween, we don’t know what will.
Even though Doctor Strange isn’t outright scary, it still consists of magic and wizards, which are Halloween staples. Well, technically, Dr. Stephen Strange is a sorcerer, not a wizard, but it’s more fun to call him a wizard. Plus, he has a Cloak of Levitation that makes it look like he’s dressed up as a Marvel wizard for Halloween.
In the film, Strange learns the ways of the mystic arts after severely injuring his hands in a car crash. He was once a successful, self-righteous neurosurgeon. But now Strange is an overconfident Avenger who many fans love. And he’s not the only magical Avenger who has captured the hearts of many Marvel enthusiasts.
WandaVision was all anyone could talk about for months in 2021, and there’s a good reason for that. We recommend that you binge-watch the entire Marvel series for Halloween because it contains the ultimate witch, Wanda Maximoff. But if you only have time for one episode on Halloween, then let it be WandaVision Season 1 Episode 6, “All-New Halloween Spooktacular!”
Unlike the other Marvel films and television shows on this list, this episode of WandaVision is dedicated to Halloween. In “All-New Halloween Spooktacular!,” Wanda’s brother Pietro comes to town. And Wanda, Vision, Pietro, and the twins Tommy and Billy dress up in their classic comic book costumes for the holiday. The episode is a treat for Marvel fans who love Halloween and ’90s sitcom Halloween specials. Plus, there might be one jump scare in the episode.
And you should know that “All-New Halloween Spooktacular!” is Emmy-nominated for Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, per CBR.
Happy Halloween, Marvel fans!
