What If Honest Trailer Blasts Marvel Show For Being MCU Remix – Screen Rant

Marvel’s What If…?, which features Marvel characters from different universes, finds itself the subject of lampooning in the new Honest Trailer.
The new Honest Trailer takes aim at Marvel’s What If…?. What If…? takes characters and moments from the MCU and explores what could’ve happened if something changed the course of events. The stories play out in the multiverse, where each universe is similar with varying differences, featuring stories like Peggy Carter getting the super-soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers and T’Challa becoming Star-Lord instead of Peter Quill. The show featured numerous actors who reprised their roles from the MCU films, like Samuel L. Jackson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jeremy Renner, Chris Hemsworth, and Chadwick Boseman’s final performance T’Challa. In addition, many new voices joined the show, such as Jeffrey Wright as the Watcher. However, a few fan-favorite characters were recast with new voice actors, including Lake Bell as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow and Josh Keaton as Steve Rogers.
What If…? now finds itself at the center of the new Honest Trailer from Screen Junkies that pokes fun at the “silly comic books” the series is based on, mentioning Iron Man’s battle with King Arthur and Wolverine as a vampire. The trailer calls the show a slight remix of old favorites, saying, “let’s not go too crazy here.” Check out the Honest Trailer below:

The trailer delves into the stories featured on the show, calling Captain Carter an English pop culture icon who isn’t a sociopath as she is shown with James Bond and Austin Powers. Each character and story arc finds itself taking a knock on the chin as the trailer points out sitcom-style dialogue and the number of times Iron Man died throughout the series before dubbing the show “But Why…?” The Honest Trailer even links What If…? to the Eternals by calling out the Watcher for being a cosmic being who refuses to intervene until this fall before cutting to a scene from the Eternals. For audiences unfamiliar with What If…?, the first season is now streaming on Disney+.
