EastEnders favourite Mick Carter (played by Danny Dyer) will be bowing out of the BBC soap this year and his time in Albert Square could come to a tragic end. After berating him for denying that Max Branning (Jake Wood) is baby Annie’s father, Rainie Highway (Tanya Franks) was mortified to see Mick collapse in Thursday’s episode. But could this be a sign the pub landlord will receive a tragic diagnosis?
In Thursday’s instalment, Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley), Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) and Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) tried to convince Mick to start dating again.
After Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) announced she wanted a divorce, the news quickly spread that Mick is back on the market.
However, Rainie was perplexed by the matchmaking attempt and quizzed Mick.
She said: “Love advice? Am I missing something here?”
“Mick here is young, free and single again,” Mitch explained.

“Oh trouble in paradise? What’s brought this break-up on then, Mick?” Rainie asked.
“None of your business,” he hit back. “In fact, it’s no-one’s business. Drop me out and delete that app.”
“I don’t want nothing to do with it,” he added before disappearing upstairs.
After following Mick to his kitchen, Rainie asked: “Here he is, the most eligible bachelor in Walford.”
“What are you doing up here?” Mick asked and she replied: “You know why Mick.”

Rainie launched into a tirade as The Queen Vic landlord struggled to control his breathing.
“I’m right, aren’t I?” Rainie asked. “That little girl ain’t yours, she’s Max’s.”
“Of course, she is, get out of my house,” Mick replied.
However, Rainie refused to let it go and continued to berate the landlord.

“I bet you were praying that kid wasn’t going to pop out with a ginger mop and a scowl,” she mocked.
“You’re wrong,” he insisted and she argued: “No, I’m right. I was right then and I’m right now.
“You took Max’s little girl and then you and Linda couldn’t live with it so I’m making sure Max comes back for his kid and then I’m going to get my Abi back.
“I’m going to make damn sure everyone knows why the golden couple have lost their shine.”
At this point, Mick collapsed to the ground gripping his chest.

Mick has suffered from panic attacks before and it’s likely the stress of Linda wanting a divorce has brought on this recent attack.
However, could his collapse be a sign of something more sinister?
Rainie will be extremely worried about the pub landlord and could accompany him to a doctor’s appointment.
EastEnders fans will know Danny Dyer is leaving the BBC soap and a fatal diagnosis could be a tragic exit storyline for the iconic character.
Will Mick have to face heartbreaking news on his own without Linda?
