Best Impressions Caterers to open Camp North End event venue – Charlotte Business Journal – Charlotte Business Journal

Best Impressions Caterers is expanding its footprint with a 23,000-square-foot venue at Camp North End.
The Charlotte catering firm has finalized a long-term lease for that 600-seat special-event space at 701 Keswick Ave. It will be called The Revelry North End.
“Charlotte is a city on the rise, and we believe that now is a good time to move forward, grow with our city and create something that doesn’t yet exist in the market,” says Justin King, president and CEO of Best Impressions.
The Revelry North End will highlight the building’s architecture. The design will incorporate steel, wood and brick with modern design elements. A 40-foot clerestory window will flood the space with natural light.
“We want to accentuate its industrial charm and develop something really special that you can’t find anywhere else in Charlotte,” King says.
A fall 2022 opening is targeted.
Best Impressions will be located within phase two of Camp North End, which includes the adaptive reuse of 701 Keswick Ave. and 201 Camp Road.
“Having The Revelry North End at 701 Keswick is not only a positive indicator for the commercial leasing market, but also a huge draw for a wide variety of office tenants, visitors and residents across the entire city,” says Tommy Mann, development director of Camp North End.
ATCO Properties & Management and its joint venture partner, Shorenstein, are behind Camp North End. Phase one of the mixed-use project redeveloped over 300,000 square feet of space for office, dining, hospitality and entertainment.
Plans call for Class A-office and retail space and a parking garage to be complete in June. Construction on the multifamily portion of the project is set to begin this year and be complete in 2024.
The property’s character, energy and the location dovetails well with Best Impressions’ existing venues, says Dave Byron, chairman. It provides an option to host larger events in a space with unique character — while maintaining a high level of service and culinary experience.
The firm has been serving the Charlotte market since 1989. It operates Byron’s South End and the historic VanLandingham Estate, with contracts for high-profile venues including Founder’s Hall, Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden and the Mint Museum.
Camp North End is an attractive destination. The Revelry’s size will accommodate large-scale corporate events, philanthropic galas and provide another option for Charlotte’s convention and trade show audience. Its flexible design can cater to larger weddings as well, he adds.
Byron says Best Impressions has weathered the impact of the pandemic as best can be expected. It launched its Table & Twine at-home meal service. Weddings and social gatherings have rebounded. He anticipates corporate business to pick up in 2022.
“We anticipate a resurgence of people wanting to be together once again, despite uncertainty from the pandemic,” Byron says.
Charles Thrift of Thrift Commercial Real Estate Services represented Best Impressions Caterers in the leasing transaction. Building ownership was represented by Aaron Ligon and Chapman Chastain at Ascent Real Estate Partners.
